- Isolation, real or imagined. The way an apartment late at night can feel like an island of light in the middle of a vast ocean, or being on an actual small boat on a vast ocean. Isolated cabins in the mountains, beach houses late at night, empty streets at the very end of the day. That sweet desolation you feel, looking over an empty space and it’s just you and the one you love.
- Places with personality. Old houses with a lot of rooms, towns that have history, forests that love you and also kind of want to eat you, the ocean that will tell you its secrets as it swallows you up.
- Pining that’s trying to be subtle but isn’t. People in denial about their own feelings, then giving in to them in private. People being embarrassed and happy and sad and complicated at being in love, platonically or romantically or in ways that even they aren’t sure about.
- Daemon AUs. Please give me all the people with their souls on the outside of their bodies as animals. People with daemons that make total sense, people with daemons that make everyone double take, daemons that are small enough to hide in someone’s sleeve, daemons that are big enough to lean on. I really love the idea of Yaz being a surrogate for River and the Doctor. The “surrogate pines for couple whose baby they’re carrying” especially seems made for these three, and I’d love to see what you can do with that. Especially if the Doctor is trying so hard to be helpful (“here’s a pillow I read is really good for the back aches you get when you’re pregnant, and here’s some special pre-natal vitamins, and a special playlist to listen to for the baby…), while River is… well, River, flirty and faintly terrifying. Lots of the two of them just swooping in and pampering Yaz, all the ways they can.
The Doctor with any pregnant human is honestly adorable to me. I can see her being an awkward, doting partner - lots of belly kisses, feeding them what they’re craving, maybe doing weird alien enrichment things (“if you bounce on this yoga ball and hold this special gel on your belly, it’ll help the baby develop language skills early!”) or even just being a mother hen. I really like the idea of her being slightly awkward about it - she’s so hands off, this incarnation, and I can totally imagine her wanting to touch someone’s belly, and being too cautious, or telepathically communicating with the baby. Anything, really, that just leads ot the Doctor being a doting, loving partner, albeit in her own weird way. I’d also love the TARDIS getting in on it - maybe doing some baby proofing, or making a nursery, or just giving the poor, tired human their favorite food.
I’m not super picky about how any human would catch pregnant. Maybe it’s an omegaverse situation, and the Doctor accidentally knocked her companion up during a heat/rut. Maybe it was a bio-engingeered dildo that connected with the Doctor’s own body, and it led to said companion getting pregnant. Maybe the baby isn’t biologically the Doctor’s, but the Doctor considers it hers. Maybe the TARDIS impregnates someone, for her own complicated reasons. If it is a half Time Lord (or half TARDIS) baby, I’d really love to see all the ways that it might be different, like the baby giving the mother some telepathy, or even permanently changing their bodies (e.g., second heart, ecto spleen, whatever).
I can imagine the Doctor trying to get Yaz to slow down a bit while Yaz is pregnant, maybe not go charging right into things - maybe a series of fics that show their adventures getting progressively less running (or trying to be less running) as Yaz gets further along. Yaz being self conscious about whatever this might mean with her future, the Doctor being there to support and take care of her, or drag her off to adventure, or just to take her to get that one food she’s craving from the one bakery on the third moon of Jupiter.
River being pregnant and afraid, the Doctor trying to be reassuring, maybe failing at it, maybe succeeding, but the two of them working together to make it work, with all their history. Maybe River feeling faintly self conscious about her changing appearance, or maybe reveling in how sexy she feels now that she’s all Mummy. The Doctor being absolutely into her wife, regardless.
Clara while pregnant would be adorable pregnant. I’d love lots of emphasis on her tummy getting bigger, the Doctor making some comment about how “well, you’re certainly getting rounder” (and then maybe having something thrown at her head), the Doctor fussing over Clara and her recklessness, maybe a whole intense heartfelt conversation about how “you need to be careful now”. I can see Clara chafing over it, and the two of them clashing and then making up.
For Clara/TARDIS, I’d really love to see the two of them coming to some sort of agreement - it’d be really funny if it was the TARDIS trolling Clara like in that one video (check out “Clara and the TARDIS” on YouTube if you haven’t seen it), replacing all the “not healthy” foods with healthier ones, or redirecting her into a room with the right kind of chairs. Alternatively, the TARDIS being comforting, in her own way - automatically giving Clara bigger bathtubs, or a bed fitted with lots of pillows, or an entirely new wardrobe, full of maternity clothes. The ship doting on her, in its own, weird way.
The Doctor being pregnant would be a nightmare and I’ll be honest, I’m super here for it. Her dealing with all of the weirdness of having a new body she’s not used to (Female! Shorter!) while also having it change in all these new, strange ways. I’d really love to see whoever she’s with trying to keep her from barreling off into danger, and trying to get her to at least try to take better care of herself. Maybe something that makes her take a good, long look at herself, because now she’s having to realize that it isn’t just her body that she’s taking care of presently. Maybe some angst about her family, but ultimately, she makes some sort of peace with it.
The Corsair with a pregnant Doctor would just be… delightful. The Corsair seems like she’d be a bit at a loss for what to do with the Doctor being pregnant, but I would really love to see it. Especially if the Doctor has somehow caught pregnant from regeneration or the TARDIS, since it would be interesting to see someone who grew up with that culture react to it. Especially if they’re not used to children, if you want to go with the ol’ Loom way of things. It would also be funny/sweet, seeing the Corsair trying to be a Good Influence (sort of) and take care of the Doctor and the baby (and get the Doctor to stop running full tilt at everything that way she has).

I love the idea of Evie designing clothes for Mal while she’s pregnant, Evie being supportive, maybe Evie freaking out about how Mal got pregnant If it’s an omegaverse thing, I’d love Evie to be self conscious of her Alpha-ness if she’s an Alpha, or maybe there’s some kind of magic involved. I’d really adore her fussing over Mal, and just the sheer amount of fluffy and goo you could get! I look forward to whatever you can bring!
I can imagine Mal being super anxious about being a sire/raising a baby, worried about hurting Evie while Evie is pregnant. I can imagine her being very… growly, for lack of a better way of putting it, Maybe she’s standoffish because she’s afraid, and then Evie calls her on it. I’d love to see Evie being afraid of being a bad mom, being afraid of letting her kid around her own mother, maybe just being afraid of the change. Maybe Mal cheers her up about being self conscious while she’s pregnant, gives her lots of love and pampering even if she’s awkward at it. I’d just love to see the two of them stumbling through their awkward, loving relationship, as bad at it as they might be.

If it is a half Time Lord (or half TARDIS) baby, I’d really love to see all the ways that it might be different, like the baby giving the mother some telepathy, or even permanently changing their bodies (e.g., second heart, ecto spleen, whatever).
I can imagine the Doctor trying to get Yaz to slow down a bit while Yaz is pregnant, maybe not go charging right into things - maybe a series of fics that show their adventures getting progressively less running (or trying to be less running) as Yaz gets further along. Yaz being self conscious about whatever this might mean with her future, the Doctor being there to support and take care of her, or drag her off to adventure, or just to take her to get that one food she’s craving from the one bakery on the third moon of Jupiter.
River being pregnant and afraid, the Doctor trying to be reassuring, maybe failing at it, maybe succeeding, but the two of them working together to make it work, with all their history. Maybe River feeling faintly self conscious about her changing appearance, or maybe reveling in how sexy she feels now that she’s all Mummy. The Doctor being absolutely into her wife, regardless.
Clara while pregnant would be adorable pregnant. I’d love lots of emphasis on her tummy getting bigger, the Doctor making some comment about how “well, you’re certainly getting rounder” (and then maybe having something thrown at her head), the Doctor fussing over Clara and her recklessness, maybe a whole intense heartfelt conversation about how “you need to be careful now”. I can see Clara chafing over it, and the two of them clashing and then making up.
For Clara/TARDIS, I’d really love to see the two of them coming to some sort of agreement - it’d be really funny if it was the TARDIS trolling Clara like in that one video (check out “Clara and the TARDIS” on YouTube if you haven’t seen it), replacing all the “not healthy” foods with healthier ones, or redirecting her into a room with the right kind of chairs. Alternatively, the TARDIS being comforting, in her own way - automatically giving Clara bigger bathtubs, or a bed fitted with lots of pillows, or an entirely new wardrobe, full of maternity clothes. The ship doting on her, in its own, weird way.
The Doctor being pregnant would be a nightmare and I’ll be honest, I’m super here for it. Her dealing with all of the weirdness of having a new body she’s not used to (Female! Shorter!) while also having it change in all these new, strange ways. I’d really love to see whoever she’s with trying to keep her from barreling off into danger, and trying to get her to at least try to take better care of herself. Maybe something that makes her take a good, long look at herself, because now she’s having to realize that it isn’t just her body that she’s taking care of presently. Maybe some angst about her family, but ultimately, she makes some sort of peace with it.
The Corsair with a pregnant Doctor would just be… delightful. The Corsair seems like she’d be a bit at a loss for what to do with the Doctor being pregnant, but I would really love to see it. Especially if the Doctor has somehow caught pregnant from regeneration or the TARDIS, since it would be interesting to see someone who grew up with that culture react to it. Especially if they’re not used to children, if you want to go with the ol’ Loom way of things. It would also be funny/sweet, seeing the Corsair trying to be a Good Influence (sort of) and take care of the Doctor and the baby (and get the Doctor to stop running full tilt at everything that way she has).

I love Evie/Mal as a ship, especially when the two of them would both be so anxious about being like their parents. Mal would be a cranky, possibly weepy, unused to having so many feelings and all of them coming out of her face. I love the idea of Evie designing clothes for Mal while she’s pregnant, Evie being supportive, maybe Evie freaking out about how Mal got pregnant If it’s an omegaverse thing, I’d love Evie to be self conscious of her Alpha-ness if she’s an Alpha, or maybe there’s some kind of magic involved. I’d really adore her fussing over Mal, and just the sheer amount of fluffy and goo you could get! I look forward to whatever you can bring!
I can imagine Mal being super anxious about being a sire/raising a baby, worried about hurting Evie while Evie is pregnant. I can imagine her being very… growly, for lack of a better way of putting it, Maybe she’s standoffish because she’s afraid, and then Evie calls her on it. I’d love to see Evie being afraid of being a bad mom, being afraid of letting her kid around her own mother, maybe just being afraid of the change. Maybe Mal cheers her up about being self conscious while she’s pregnant, gives her lots of love and pampering even if she’s awkward at it. I’d just love to see the two of them stumbling through their awkward, loving relationship, as bad at it as they might be.
