While the freeforms are appreciated, you don’t need to use all of them - or even most of them! The prompts are suggestions, but if you get a better idea by all means, please follow that idea!
- Fairy tale motifs, biblical (as in Tanakh and Torah) motifs, mythological motifs in general. People turned into animals, riddles, things not being what they seem, things falling into patterns that we can recognize, even if it takes a little bit of time. Princesses and monsters and giants and talking animals, having to go on a journey but coming back.
- Characters bonding over domestic things (especially cooking/baking/grocery shopping/other things to do with food), characters arguing over domestic things, characters making up with each other with domestic things. Isolated cabins in the mountains, beach houses late at night, empty streets at the very end of the day. That sweet desolation you feel, looking over an empty space and it’s just you and the one you love.
- Places with personality. Old houses with a lot of rooms, towns that have history, forests that love you and also kind of want to eat you, the ocean that will tell you its secrets as it swallows you up.
- Pining that’s trying to be subtle but isn’t. People in denial about their own feelings, then giving in to them in private. People being embarrassed and happy and sad and complicated at being in love, platonically or romantically or in ways that even they aren’t sure about.

I love the idea of these two together. I could totally imagine Ace as Kate's rebellion - maybe Kate knows that Ace was important to the Doctor, or maybe she thinks that Ace is just some random hooligan. For that matter, maybe Ace thinks Kate is some cute kid who wants to rebel, or maybe she knows that it's the Brig's daughter. Or heck, maybe they just run into each other when they're off on their own adventures. I'd love to see where you'd like to go with them, regardless - these are just suggestions!
Nyssa of Traken/Fifth Doctor
These two are so messy, when you go down to their roots - he feels faintly responsible for her planet being wiped out, she knows she doesn't really have anyone or anyplace else. I'd love some exploration of his complicated feelings about it, or about her own. I'll admit I've got a fun headcanon about her having a crush on him when she met 4, although if you don't wanna go down that road that's cool too! I have a weakness for age gap - maybe something where he feels guilty about her age and inexperience? If you're not comfortable with that, do not feel pressured to go down that road! I just love the two of them and how… complicatedly codependent two of them end up being. I'd love stuff about how he admires how smart she is, how brave. Maybe something about the two of them being into each other on a more physical level, for a change of pace? Honestly, wherever you wanna go with it I'll probably love it!
Melanie Bush/Sixth Doctor
I absolutely adore these two together. Some of it is just the size difference, I'll admit to that. She is so small and he is so big and… well. I really love his fondness for her, and how much she adores him. Their fondness for each other comes out a bit more in the audios (I'm thinking of The Wrong Doctors specifically, although there are a ton), but you don't need to use them if you don't wanna! I would love something exploring his complicated feelings about the out of order way they met - there's something really fun to me about the fact that a lot of the time, it seems like SHE has all the cards. I will request no weight loss talk though, please. I also love how… bossy she js. How he does what she says, because she's so stubborn, and how he trusts her not to steer him someplace horrible (much). The two of them have such delightful chemistry, and I'd love to see where you can go with it!
Ace McShane/Seventh Doctor
This ship has recently bitten me hard, and I'd love to see where you can go with them. I love them both so much - they're such a mess, bad at caring for each other but also the best for each other. I'd love to see an exploration of it, of the ways they're so suited for each other and so UNSUITED for each other at the same time. I'll admit that I do love the mentor/mentee aspect of the two of them. I'm totally okay with Ace being underage if you want to go down that road, although no pressure if you don't. I'd love something exploring her wanting him - there's something super appealing to me about someone wanting a guy who isn't traditionally handsome, although again, this is just a suggestion. No matter what you write with them, I'm pretty much guaranteed to ADORE it!
Fifth Doctor/Tegan Jovanka
I've always been a sucker for an antagonistic ship, and the way these two always butt heads delights me. I'd love something about the way the two of them are drawn to each other and also make each other crazy- maybe something about her trust issues after he left her? For that matter, maybe something about him finally losing some of that stuffy English proprietary… whatnot. They're both such contrasting personalities, but they also both clearly care about each other, and I'd love to see all the ways you could demonstrate it! Maybe a quiet moment between the two of them, or maybe they lose their tempers at each other and SOMETHING boils over or.... well, whatever it is you wanna do with them!
Melanie Bush/Ace McShane
Ace and Mel have such amazing chemistry in Dragonfire, and the audios (if you wanna reference them, no pressure if you don’t!), and I’d love to see where you can go from there! They’re both bursting with personality, and I love their age gap, I love how different they are from each other, but similar at the same time - Mel’s so chipper, but also stubborn enough to get the likes of the Sixth Doctor to drink carrot juice. And Ace… well. We know Ace, she of the Nitro-9 and emotional repression. I’d love to see what you can do with them!

I did not expect to come out of POTD shipping Ace/Yaz so damn hard, and yet. I love the way they're both reflections of the Doctor - Ace seeing Yaz's Doctorification, Yaz seeing Ace's. For that matter, Yaz also seeing where the Doctor's Aceification came from! I also love Ace as the suave, confident person who shows Yaz that it is, in fact, possible to move on and be a person after all the… everything that is traveling with the Doctor. I like the idea of Yaz also being into Yaz partially since… well, she's learned that she can be in love with an older woman and stuff can go sideways, hasn't she? I'd love seeing her acting on it - screwing her courage to the sticking place and all that. I'm not especially picky, honestly - I just love them both so much!
Ace McShane/Thirteenth Doctor (DW 2005)
These two would be delicious together. Some of it is just the combination of them - two very good looking women would look good together. I love the history they've got together - all the ways they hurt each other, the ways they love each other. I love the idea of the two of them running into each other after all this time - they've both changed, but they're both still themselves! I'd love to see them connecting again in weird, complicated ways - maybe 13 going to Ace when she first regenerates, maybe they run into each other on accident, maybe Ace somehow finds a way to get in contact with the Doctor. I would adore something addressing the hurt feelings that led to them parting ways - or maybe they very pointedly DON'T talk about things, since they're both fairly emotionally constipated. Regardless of where you want to go with them, I'm sure they'll be great!

I absolutely adore the Valarie, and I feel like she'd have a very unique relationship with the TARDIS. As a cyborg, I feel like she and the TARDIS would get on like a house on fire. The fact that they're both mechanical and also biological, the fact that they both care so much about the Doctor… it sounds delicious. I'd absolutely love to have something where the TARDIS gets into Valarie's dreams, or maybe Valarie is up to her elbow in the TARDIS' roundel. I'd love to see her approach the TARDIS as an engineer as well - we canonically have her ask about the TARDIS manual multiple times! I'm not super picky where you go with them, honestly. I love Valarie, and I'd love to share that love!
Valarie Lockwood/Eleventh Doctor
These two surprised me with how much I loved them. They've got delicious chemistry, and especially especially their most recent box set (the final audio, specifically, which I will not spoil). I love how complicated they are, but they're also NOT complicated. They both care about each other so much! I'd love something with her cybernetics - maybe he helps her fix something, maybe he's impressed with her strength… I'm not picky, I just love them both!
Sixth Doctor/Charley Pollard
Six and Charley have the kind of complicated painful pining sort of set up that I could eat up with a spoon and ask for seconds. He clearly adores her (how adventurous she is, how brave, how kind), but he’s also clearly pulling his hair out about all the things she isn’t telling him. She, for her part, misses 8, but I feel like she’s developing her own feelings for him as well - I’d love to see some exploration of that. The feeling of falling in love with someone else who’s also the person who you do love, the contrast between them… they’re such a knotty, strange pairing and I’d love to see wherever you could go with it, whether it’s smutty or fluffy or bittersweet… I am not picky, although I will request it be less on the angsty side, please.
Hebe Harrison/Sixth Doctor
Hebe and Six are both so much fucking fun. They both pull each other's pigtails to a ridiculous extent, and I would love to see where you can go with them. I think it's delightful that they both challenge each other, and the way she's still kind of a newcomer to all the weirdness of the life the Doctor lives. Maybe something where he tries to impress her? Or maybe she has to save him? I don't have anything too specific for the two of them, honestly - I love them regardless, and I can't wait to see where you may go with them!
Hebe Harrison/Melanie Bush
Hebe is another character that I did not expect to fall so hard for. I really love the way that Hebe and Mel get on - in their first set, the two of them kind of butting heads (mostly with Hebe pulling Mel’s pigtails), or in the second set, where they’re much closer. We don’t know what’s going to happen after Chronomancer, but I’d really love to see your take on it - or maybe something where Pat catches on to their relationship? I’d also love, like, early days - something with Hebe having a crush, or Mel being awkward… I’m super not picky, in all honesty- just about anything with the two of them would make my day. I love the idea of seeing Mel getting past Hebe’s snarky exterior, and the idea of Hebe getting to see Mel’s more playful, snarky side herself. Heck, I’d even love to see the culture shock, since Hebe is from the 2020s and Mel is from the eighties! I am not picky, I just love them, a whole bunch!

I love the idea of these two together. I could totally imagine Ace as Kate's rebellion - maybe Kate knows that Ace was important to the Doctor, or maybe she thinks that Ace is just some random hooligan. For that matter, maybe Ace thinks Kate is some cute kid who wants to rebel, or maybe she knows that it's the Brig's daughter. Or heck, maybe they just run into each other when they're off on their own adventures. I'd love to see where you'd like to go with them, regardless - these are just suggestions!
Nyssa of Traken/Fifth Doctor
These two are so messy, when you go down to their roots - he feels faintly responsible for her planet being wiped out, she knows she doesn't really have anyone or anyplace else. I'd love some exploration of his complicated feelings about it, or about her own. I'll admit I've got a fun headcanon about her having a crush on him when she met 4, although if you don't wanna go down that road that's cool too! I have a weakness for age gap - maybe something where he feels guilty about her age and inexperience? If you're not comfortable with that, do not feel pressured to go down that road! I just love the two of them and how… complicatedly codependent two of them end up being. I'd love stuff about how he admires how smart she is, how brave. Maybe something about the two of them being into each other on a more physical level, for a change of pace? Honestly, wherever you wanna go with it I'll probably love it!
Melanie Bush/Sixth Doctor
I absolutely adore these two together. Some of it is just the size difference, I'll admit to that. She is so small and he is so big and… well. I really love his fondness for her, and how much she adores him. Their fondness for each other comes out a bit more in the audios (I'm thinking of The Wrong Doctors specifically, although there are a ton), but you don't need to use them if you don't wanna! I would love something exploring his complicated feelings about the out of order way they met - there's something really fun to me about the fact that a lot of the time, it seems like SHE has all the cards. I will request no weight loss talk though, please. I also love how… bossy she js. How he does what she says, because she's so stubborn, and how he trusts her not to steer him someplace horrible (much). The two of them have such delightful chemistry, and I'd love to see where you can go with it!
Ace McShane/Seventh Doctor
This ship has recently bitten me hard, and I'd love to see where you can go with them. I love them both so much - they're such a mess, bad at caring for each other but also the best for each other. I'd love to see an exploration of it, of the ways they're so suited for each other and so UNSUITED for each other at the same time. I'll admit that I do love the mentor/mentee aspect of the two of them. I'm totally okay with Ace being underage if you want to go down that road, although no pressure if you don't. I'd love something exploring her wanting him - there's something super appealing to me about someone wanting a guy who isn't traditionally handsome, although again, this is just a suggestion. No matter what you write with them, I'm pretty much guaranteed to ADORE it!

I've always been a sucker for an antagonistic ship, and the way these two always butt heads delights me. I'd love something about the way the two of them are drawn to each other and also make each other crazy- maybe something about her trust issues after he left her? For that matter, maybe something about him finally losing some of that stuffy English proprietary… whatnot. They're both such contrasting personalities, but they also both clearly care about each other, and I'd love to see all the ways you could demonstrate it! Maybe a quiet moment between the two of them, or maybe they lose their tempers at each other and SOMETHING boils over or.... well, whatever it is you wanna do with them!
Melanie Bush/Ace McShane
Ace and Mel have such amazing chemistry in Dragonfire, and the audios (if you wanna reference them, no pressure if you don’t!), and I’d love to see where you can go from there! They’re both bursting with personality, and I love their age gap, I love how different they are from each other, but similar at the same time - Mel’s so chipper, but also stubborn enough to get the likes of the Sixth Doctor to drink carrot juice. And Ace… well. We know Ace, she of the Nitro-9 and emotional repression. I’d love to see what you can do with them!

I did not expect to come out of POTD shipping Ace/Yaz so damn hard, and yet. I love the way they're both reflections of the Doctor - Ace seeing Yaz's Doctorification, Yaz seeing Ace's. For that matter, Yaz also seeing where the Doctor's Aceification came from! I also love Ace as the suave, confident person who shows Yaz that it is, in fact, possible to move on and be a person after all the… everything that is traveling with the Doctor. I like the idea of Yaz also being into Yaz partially since… well, she's learned that she can be in love with an older woman and stuff can go sideways, hasn't she? I'd love seeing her acting on it - screwing her courage to the sticking place and all that. I'm not especially picky, honestly - I just love them both so much!
Ace McShane/Thirteenth Doctor (DW 2005)
These two would be delicious together. Some of it is just the combination of them - two very good looking women would look good together. I love the history they've got together - all the ways they hurt each other, the ways they love each other. I love the idea of the two of them running into each other after all this time - they've both changed, but they're both still themselves! I'd love to see them connecting again in weird, complicated ways - maybe 13 going to Ace when she first regenerates, maybe they run into each other on accident, maybe Ace somehow finds a way to get in contact with the Doctor. I would adore something addressing the hurt feelings that led to them parting ways - or maybe they very pointedly DON'T talk about things, since they're both fairly emotionally constipated. Regardless of where you want to go with them, I'm sure they'll be great!

I absolutely adore the Valarie, and I feel like she'd have a very unique relationship with the TARDIS. As a cyborg, I feel like she and the TARDIS would get on like a house on fire. The fact that they're both mechanical and also biological, the fact that they both care so much about the Doctor… it sounds delicious. I'd absolutely love to have something where the TARDIS gets into Valarie's dreams, or maybe Valarie is up to her elbow in the TARDIS' roundel. I'd love to see her approach the TARDIS as an engineer as well - we canonically have her ask about the TARDIS manual multiple times! I'm not super picky where you go with them, honestly. I love Valarie, and I'd love to share that love!

These two surprised me with how much I loved them. They've got delicious chemistry, and especially especially their most recent box set (the final audio, specifically, which I will not spoil). I love how complicated they are, but they're also NOT complicated. They both care about each other so much! I'd love something with her cybernetics - maybe he helps her fix something, maybe he's impressed with her strength… I'm not picky, I just love them both!
Sixth Doctor/Charley Pollard
Six and Charley have the kind of complicated painful pining sort of set up that I could eat up with a spoon and ask for seconds. He clearly adores her (how adventurous she is, how brave, how kind), but he’s also clearly pulling his hair out about all the things she isn’t telling him. She, for her part, misses 8, but I feel like she’s developing her own feelings for him as well - I’d love to see some exploration of that. The feeling of falling in love with someone else who’s also the person who you do love, the contrast between them… they’re such a knotty, strange pairing and I’d love to see wherever you could go with it, whether it’s smutty or fluffy or bittersweet… I am not picky, although I will request it be less on the angsty side, please.
Hebe Harrison/Sixth Doctor
Hebe and Six are both so much fucking fun. They both pull each other's pigtails to a ridiculous extent, and I would love to see where you can go with them. I think it's delightful that they both challenge each other, and the way she's still kind of a newcomer to all the weirdness of the life the Doctor lives. Maybe something where he tries to impress her? Or maybe she has to save him? I don't have anything too specific for the two of them, honestly - I love them regardless, and I can't wait to see where you may go with them!
Hebe Harrison/Melanie Bush
Hebe is another character that I did not expect to fall so hard for. I really love the way that Hebe and Mel get on - in their first set, the two of them kind of butting heads (mostly with Hebe pulling Mel’s pigtails), or in the second set, where they’re much closer. We don’t know what’s going to happen after Chronomancer, but I’d really love to see your take on it - or maybe something where Pat catches on to their relationship? I’d also love, like, early days - something with Hebe having a crush, or Mel being awkward… I’m super not picky, in all honesty- just about anything with the two of them would make my day. I love the idea of seeing Mel getting past Hebe’s snarky exterior, and the idea of Hebe getting to see Mel’s more playful, snarky side herself. Heck, I’d even love to see the culture shock, since Hebe is from the 2020s and Mel is from the eighties! I am not picky, I just love them, a whole bunch!
